About this roundup
Purpose
A weekly curated digest of news affecting community resilience, equity, climate preparedness, public health, infrastructure, Native Hawaiian communities, and Pacific regional affairs — published every Monday at 8:00 a.m. Hawaiʻi time.
Editorial focus
Each edition contains exactly 40 articles across four sections: political leadership and Pacific regionalism; people-centered development and equity; climate risks and environmental stressors; and infrastructure, economic development, and connectivity. Articles are selected against a relevance test grounded in community resilience — see the full criteria and scoring rubric in this project's build documentation.
Geographic scope
Hawaiʻi statewide — Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi Island, Maui, and Kauaʻi — plus Pacific regional affairs (Compact of Free Association nations, regional diplomacy and security, and Pacific-wide climate and disaster resilience) where directly relevant to Hawaiʻi communities.
Selection criteria
Only articles published in the previous seven days, from established Hawaiʻi and Pacific news organizations, government agencies, and Native Hawaiian institutions — never content farms, unverified social media claims, or duplicate press-release reposts. Every summary links to exactly one original source, once.
Curation disclosure
Summaries here are curated and written by this publication; they are not the original reporting. Each entry links directly to the original publisher's article — read the full story there.
